FIVE Questions with the Master: Vilma Thompson |
What events do you do?: Weight Pentathlon(Discus, Heptathlon, Shot, Sprinting,Javelin, Long Jump,Hammer)
- When did you start athletics?: Started when I was 6 years old back in the day. Started Masters Athletics as a W35
- What are your achievements so far?: I have won medals at both British and International level. This includes 22 British Championship medals and 6 European and World Championship medals.
- What is your greatest achievements?: Winning a bronze medal at the World Indoor Championships after having a Total Knee replacement on my right knee. World Indoor Pentathlon record 1988 and World Champs silver in Eugene 1989.
- What drives you to do your sport and what words of wisdom can you give people on what you do?: My drive and motivation is to enjoy my athletics and try my best each time I go out and compete
To be able to achieve things at this age by yourself. My words of wisdom are to:
“Challenge yourself to be the best that you can be”
